Production Update: OBD1 Honda PnP ECU Delays, Customs Issues, and Rising Costs

jowens, July 28, 2026

We want to provide an honest update regarding current production delays affecting our OBD1 Honda Plug-and-Play ECU boards and several related products.

Right now, circuit boards and electronic components are being held up at different stages of the shipping and customs process. Some shipments have been delayed before leaving the supplier, while others are currently awaiting customs clearance. Because the boards and components arrive separately, even one delayed shipment can prevent us from completing an entire batch of products.

Tariffs have also added a significant amount of cost to nearly every stage of production. Boards, processors, connectors, electronic components, packaging, and other materials have all become more expensive to source and import. In some cases, the added costs have been much higher than expected, making it difficult to maintain normal production schedules and pricing.

Unfortunately, this means we are currently unable to complete certain products until the required components arrive. We know these delays are frustrating, especially for customers waiting on orders or watching for products to return to stock. They are frustrating for us too. We want nothing more than to keep products available and orders moving without interruption.

We are actively working to re-source several components from alternative suppliers in an effort to create a more reliable supply chain and smoother production process going forward. This includes testing replacement components, confirming compatibility, reviewing quality, and finding suppliers that can provide more consistent availability.

We are doing everything we can to keep production moving, but we also will not rush products out the door using untested or lower-quality parts. Every replacement component must meet our standards before it is used in a BoostedNW product.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support while we work through these challenges. BoostedNW is a small business, and every order, message, recommendation, and repeat customer genuinely helps us continue developing and producing products for the Honda tuning community.

We will continue sharing updates as shipments arrive and production resumes.
